本馆概况

     所图书馆是具有一定规模的科技专业图书馆，是服务于本所科研活动的重要信息资源库。馆藏资源涉及图书、期刊、数据库、电子资源、内部资料、学位论文、地质图件、地形图件、磁照图件等，馆藏最早文献为1888年的“Palaeontographical Society”。随着网络信息技术的发展，所图书馆积极参与院所共建共享，已开通全文数据库数十种，90%以上学术期刊实现了电子化借阅。此外，读者可通过馆际互借和原文传递系统，借阅国家图书馆、北京大学图书馆、清华大学图书馆和全国地质图书馆，以及中科院各个研究所图书馆的文献资源，拓宽了信息获取渠道和方式。

    The Library of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, CAS is a large-scale specialized library featuring collections in science and technology, an important repository of information and resources in support of the scientific research within the Institute. Its first piece of literature, Palaeontographical Society, can be traced back to 1888. As of today, we have attained a total collection of 35,000 books, 198,500 journals, 15,200 copies of data and 109,900 atlases. In addition, the Library also houses well-established databases, electronic resources, internal data, dissertations and magnetograph records. With the latest technological advancement, we have been endeavoring to provide better and more user-friendly services to our users. Since 2003, we have launched co-operations with a wide variety of full-text databases. More than 90% of the journals in the field of Geology and Geophysics can be borrowed and read online. In the meantime, we have also been trying to make all our books available online. Through our inter-library borrowing and original document delivery systems, our readers can get access to the literature resources in National Library of China, Library of Peking University, Library of Tsinghua University, National Geological Library and libraries of all the other institutes under CAS.
